Q: What's so special about the Tourism Awards?
The Singapore Tourism Awards is the most anticipated awards among industry players in our hospitality and service sector. In addition to visitors participating in the nomination process, there is a high participation level by Singapore residents as well, contributing to its success. This shows that our effort to build a strong service culture is not simply to drive tourist arrivals, but also to raise service standards across the country.
Q: What else would you like to see the Tourism Awards do?
The current awards recognise a broad spectrum of sectors within the hospitality sector. Going forward, perhaps we can 'grow' the awards
further by pruning the number of awards to focus on different sectors
each year. By being flexible and focused at the same time, we will be
able to up the quality of the awards to a new level. In doing so, the
Singapore Tourism Awards will also truly be evolving with the times.
