Sophisticated, evolutionary, well-managed

Paul Martin, Director South East Asia & Indian Subcontinent, Airline Business Group, Amadeus Asia

Q: Three words to describe Singapore.

Sophisticated, evolutionary, well-managed.

Q: The best meal I've ever had in Singapore:

Tough call, can I choose two? As a foodie, you knew there would never be just one!

One would be the Sunday Free Flow French Champagne Brunch at The Fullerton. The devil is in the details, so 'Sunday' is already good. 'Free Flow' makes a Sunday even better. And 'French Champagne' - what more can I say? Family, in-laws, and three hours of Champagne Brunch!

Another would be my first visit to Oso, a wonderful Italian Restaurant, on that occasion with a great friend and a very cheeky and superb waiter. Great company, great food, great wine, and top service. It's not a bad life.

Q: The best experience I've ever had in Singapore:

Flying at full speed down the 'Luge' on Sentosa Island with my two sons - Louis sharing my toboggan and Joshua the eldest in front on his own. We had to swerve to an emergency stop as a one metre long lizard strolled across the track. Josh, 8 years, said: 'Oh cool', and sped off to win the race.

I just imagine at the age of eight, living in London, the world seemed so big to me that I could hardly imagine ever seeing such a creature. As Bob Dylan once said, 'The times they are a changin'.

Q: My most treasured souvenir of Singapore:

Memories of the first 'Wired' (a travel conference) after-party, with the most amazing talent show and later Wendi Koh (Singapore singer) on stage with an acoustic guitar and torn jeans.
