I was reading the papers the other day about two visitors who had flown in from Kuala Lumpur just to shop during the Great Singapore Sale. They were really happy with their purchases and the prices. Even with the currency difference, they felt they got great value. Plus, we all know that shopping is not only about great value. Yes, it helps but it's also the experience that counts. Which is why this year's Great Singapore Sale is not only packed with great discounts but lots of new and different experiences from late night shopping to entertainment at malls to keep shoppers in the right spirits to buy. In this issue of P@SSPORT, we also cast our eye on what's happening in the airline industry. There is no doubt that there can be no tourism without aviation and what happens to airlines has a direct impact on all of us in tourism. Travel agents will have to keep abreast of these changing trends and thanks to new technological tools, will have the means to do so and preserve their place in the value chain. Enjoy reading this issue of P@SSPORT. Sincerely, |
