American author, narrator and lecturer, David C. McCullough said, "History is who we are and why we are the way we are." Singapore's history permeates through everything it has to offer visitors - from its street food culture borne out of the melting pot of its races to its architecture spanning colonial, pre-war and modern days and to its ethnic zones with their respective and distinct character and feel. This month, as Singapore celebrates its 43rd birthday, P@SSPORT celebrates Singapore's history with a range of stories that look at our culture and heritage experiences - from the three different ethnic festivals coming up to our food history and unique hotels that capture the feel of Singapore. It's a strength of Singapore that we must continue to promote because more and more, discerning travellers are no longer happy to just sightsee and shop but to participate and to experience a destination's heart and soul. Enjoy Sincerely, |
