A star-studded night

17 October 2011 was a night that many might have regarded as one of the stars - the tourism industry’s stars to be exact.

The annual Singapore Experience Awards is indeed an opportunity for us to honour the finest in Singapore’s tourism. Award recipients represented a wide range of key sectors from events, marketing and media, and hospitality among others.

One thing that struck me was the passion and pride that characterised each finalist and award recipient. As a Singaporean, I am immensely proud to witness the efforts and dedication of such a strong community of individuals and companies in contributing to the city’s remarkable transformation over the years.

More than the urban infrastructure, it is, without a doubt, the human element that makes for a real Singapore destination experience, long after the gleam and shine have gone out from the hardware.

Congratulations once again to all our winners, and for making Singapore a great city to visit and live in.
