February has been a bustling month on many fronts.

For one, the multi-faceted Chinese New Year festivities added colour to the city skyline while across the Singapore River, the new ArtScience Museum – the first of its kind in the world, opened its doors to the public with the much-anticipated Genghis Khan:The Exhibition alongside Shipwrecked: Tang Treasures and Monsoon Winds.

Topping it all off are the 2010 Tourism Performance results with record numbers marking a stellar year for the tourism industry – an estimated S$18.8 billion in tourism receipts and 11.6 million visitor arrivals to be exact.

As Mr Simon Israel, the former chairman of STB, aptly sums up in his interview with P@ssport, Singapore stands on the threshold of something truly remarkable – a veritable transformation.

Most of us, whether we are residents or visitors, might be hard pressed at times to keep up with Singapore’s developments in the recent few years.

Even as new events and venues are being added to the tourism landscape, existing ones are undergoing facelifts or innovating in exciting ways. A case in point is this year’s edition of the Singapore Biennale which will see our popular Merlion converted into an actual hotel.

2010 was certainly a remarkable year but with just as much to look forward to in 2011, what is YourSingapore going to be like?

Sincerely,
Oliver Chong
