A roaring start to 2010

There is no lull in sight with an exciting calendar of events taking place in Singapore in the coming months.

This month, we will welcome back the Singapore Airshow which promises to be bigger and better, and continue to thrill local and overseas visitors alike. From the runway to the catwalk, the Asian Fashion Exchange which will make its fashionable debut in the world of haute couture, will not only put the spotlight on regional fashion but also give local brands and designers an international platform to showcase their flair and talent.

Sports remains a vital draw for our events - we welcomed home the Uniquely Singapore team in the Clipper race last month, and they are off again to conquer the high seas, marking the third race that Singapore is taking part in. Then there's SPORTELAsia in March, the leading international sports convention for television and new media which Singapore was voted to host this year, which sporting enthusiasts will undoubtedly look eagerly toward. And of course, who could forget the pièce de résistance, the Youth Olympic Games in August, which will see the convergence of the best of the world's sporting youths to compete and embrace the Olympic values of excellence, friendship and respect on our shores?

And on January 20, one of our two Integrated Resorts, Resorts World Sentosa®, opened its hotels to the public at the precise and auspicious time of 8.18am.

A roaring start indeed, as we enter the Year of the Tiger and have even more events to look forward to as the year takes off.

Sincerely,
Ken Low
