Get set for a Singapore GP Season of fun during the Formula One™ race

The Singapore GP Season is set to rev up the excitement that surrounds the landmark 2008 Formula One™ SingTel Singapore Grand Prix that makes Formula One™ history as the world’s first night race. For three weekends from 20 September to 5 October, Singapore will be host to a series of adrenalin-inducing events and activities, promising endless entertainment, top-class events and head-turning shows.

"The Singapore GP Season will help entrench Singapore's standing as a world-class events and entertainment capital and position Singapore as a top-notch lifestyle destination, providing unique experiences to complement the first ever night race in Formula One™ history," said Ms Margaret Teo, Assistant Chief Executive (Leisure), Singapore Tourism Board (STB).

"The Season is the result of a concerted effort by the STB together with the private sector to conceptualise and make possible these exciting lifestyle experiences. We hope that the Singapore GP Season will not only enhance the experience of visitors but also offer a compelling reason for them to stay an extra day or two simply to revel in the exciting race ambience and gather their most memorable Uniquely Singapore personal experiences."

Anchored by more than 10 key events and supported by a range of unique and enriching lifestyle experiences, the Season will also present a host of enriching lifestyle offerings including dining and retail promotions and late night shopping opportunities to ensure that there is something for everyone.


Clarke Quay will host a series of activities during Singapore River Festival, a week long event.

Some exciting Season highlights include

• The Singapore River Festival , a week-long event that focuses on three key elements: water, heritage and entertainment. Clarke Quay will host a series of activities with concerts by international and local artistes and outdoor parties. The Southeast Asia first ever mega illusion show, "The Impossible Journey" by J C Sum, will also be held at The Central. This historic district is also set to dazzle with the return of six traditional bumboats which will be decorated for a special float parade that will culminate in a visually spectacular dance drama, " Legenda Singapura". There will also be walking tours along the river showcasing interesting tales of Boat Quay and Clarke Quay, join with "The Tipple Exchange" and "Of Dali, Barley and Hadhramis™".


The world's best beers will be showcased at the Singapore Beer Festival.

• The Singapore Beer Festival, a showcase of the world's best beers including rare brews from places such as the Isle of Wight and Coney Island, available for the first time in Asia. Held at Fort Canning Park, this trade and consumer event will present international music artists, stand-up comedy shows by Australian comedian Jonathan Atherton and other live entertainment events.

Opera Gallery's Master's Formula – The Artistic Drive will showcase monumental sculptures of contemporary masters including Fernando Botero, Arman Fernandez, Robert Combas, Jean Dubuffet and Niki de Saint Phalle at two key tourism precincts - Orchard Road and Singapore River.

Amber Lounge (Millenia Waterfall, near Conrad Centennial), an exclusive party where race drivers, team principals, team sponsors, models and celebrities congregate to party from dusk to dawn, It's the party described by former Formula One™ driver Michael Schumacher as "...the only place to celebrate after a Grand Prix".
