New Board Members

Mr Aubeck Kam – Appointed to the Board since 30 June 2007

Mr Kam currently holds the position of Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Manpower (MOM). He has previously held senior government positions in trade and security. As Director of Trade in the Ministry of Trade & Industry (MTI), he was involved in negotiations of free trade agreements with China, India and Canada. He served as the Director of Operations for the Singapore Police Force, holding the rank of Senior Assistant Commissioner. Mr Kam is also a Board Member in the Central Provident Fund Board and the Singapore Examinations Assessment Board

Mr Patrick Pitcher – Appointed to the Board since 30 June 2007
Mr Pitcher recently retired from his position as CEO JWT Asia Pacific South where he presided over 20 offices in 11 countries for three years. Prior to that Mr Pitcher was CEO Asia Pacific and on the Worldwide Executive Board of Saatchi and Saatchi. During his 11 years in the Asia Pacific region he has gained in-depth knowledge of the various markets including China, India, Japan, S E Asia and Australia. Before he became CEO for Saatchi & Saatchi Canada and MD of South Africa, he worked for Johnson & Johnson and Unilever. Mr Pitcher has garnered extensive global marketing and branding exprience after having worked with many of the world's top advertisers.

The STB would like to thank Mr Lucas Chow and Mr Frank Wong, who retired from the Board on 29 June 2007, for their invaluable contributions and counsel.

Staff Announcements

Ms Caroline Leong Kah Wei joined the Singapore Tourism Board on 23 July 2007 as Director, Travel and Hospitality Business (DTHB). With her coming onboard, Ms Margaret Teo, Assistant Chief Executive (Leisure) & Director, Integrated Resorts, relinquished her concurrent duties as Director, Travel & Hospitality Business.

Mr Justin Chew, Regional Director, Americas (RDA) will be returning to STB HQ upon completion of his overseas posting on 31 August 2007. He will be appointed as Director, Leisure Planning (DLP) effective 1 September 2007. With Justin's appointment, Mr Kok Ping Soon, Coordinating Director, Planning (CDP) will relinquish his concurrent appointment of Director, Leisure Planning (DLP) appointment on the same date.

Ms Goh Kershing, Area Director, Eastern United States of America & South America (ArDEUSSA), will be appointed as Regional Director, Americas (RDA) effective 1 September 2007. Ms Goh has been with the Board since 1996 and has held various positions in headquarters and overseas.

Mr Kok Ping Soon, Coordinating Director (Planning Group) and Director, Sector Planning division (CDP/DSP) will be seconded to Ministry of Trade and Industry as Director, Resource Division with effect from 1 September 2007.

Ms Ong Huey Hong, Director, Corporate Planning Division (DCP), will assume the concurrent title of Director, Planning Division (DP) with effect from 1 September 2007.
