Uniquely Singapore achieved a
podium finish in the final leg of the Clipper 07-08 Round The World Yacht Race.
The team achieved a podium finish, arriving second of the 10 international
Clipper yachts at Albert Dock in Liverpool in the final race in early July
2008.
Uniquely Singapore's first podium win was in Leg 5 from Hawaii to
California where she took first position. In the overall tally, Uniquely
Singapore finished in seventh position in a race that has crossed
35,000 miles round the globe.
This is the second consecutive year that Singapore has fielded an entry in the
Clipper Round the World Yacht Race. The main sponsor of Uniquely Singapore
for the 07-08 Race is Keppel Corporation Limited, together with race partner,
the Singapore Tourism Board (STB).
As part of its people development initiatives, Keppel had fielded a team of six
Keppelites to crew Uniquely Singapore in the Clipper 07-08 Race.

Ms Wang Look Fung, General Manager, Keppel Group Corporate Communications, said
that the Uniquely Singapore crew and its Keppel ambassadors had done
Singapore proud "with their display of a strong can-do spirit and tenacity to
overcome all odds with teamwork".
Congratulating the team, Mr Ken Low, STB's Assistant Chief Executive (Brand and
Communications), said that "besides being inspired by the rich experiences and
visual wonders on their journey, they have surely touched the lives of those
around with their never-say-die team spirit and close camaraderie".
The Clipper Race started in Liverpool, England on 16 September 2007 and over the
last 10 months, the crews have crossed the Atlantic three times, the Pacific
once, and sailed across the Southern Ocean, with stopovers in five continents.
