Leisure Events December in Singapore is filled with activities for all! Party revelers can enjoy an all night dance and music festival at ZoukOut on Sentosa, while sports enthusiasts can sweat it out at the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon. Christmas in the Tropics 2005 Celebrate Christmas with a difference in Singapore! From now till 2 January 2006, head downtown for the biggest and brightest Christmas in the Tropics in celebration of the yuletide season!
Step into Singapore’s premier shopping street, Orchard Road, and bask in the fun-filled atmosphere as you shop for Christmas gifts and savour a tantalizing array of Christmas delicacies. Themed Wonderland: A Musical Kaleidoscope, you will be enthralled by the glittering displays brought to life in swirls of colours and sounds. Visitors can also hop on the open-top HiPPO bus for a 30-minute spin and enjoy a panoramic view of Orchard Road.
Orchard Road also comes alive with an array of mesmerising events from 16 - 25 December, including a 50-feet singing Christmas tree with choir performances, nightly stage performances by celebrities from the region, and colourful floats. Over at Marina Bay, Winterland: Dreaming of A White Christmas is a haven of sparkling stars, night skies and children’s laughter, that will guarantee you an enchanting experience. Visitors to the Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay can enjoy daily performances by choirs, a capella groups and bands as they fill the nights with festive music and songs. At Clarke Quay, a group of Wild Wild West performers from the United States will be showcasing their cowboy skills of gun spinning and rope twirling at the celebrations at Clarke Quay. |

Outdoor Photo Exhibition “Earth from Above” Be captivated by an outdoor photo exhibition entitled “Earth from Above”, featuring the insightful works of renowned photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand. Happening from 27 October 2005 - 17 January 2006 along Orchard Road (from Wheelock Place to Forum Galleria The Shopping Centre), the photo exhibition is aimed at promoting sustainable development and the protection of the earth. This provides yet another visual arts experience for visitors and locals, and at the same time, enlivens the pedestrian walkways of Orchard Road. |

Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2005 Co-organised by the Singapore Sports Council and Singapore Athletics Association, with Standard Chartered Bank as the title sponsor, the annual Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon will flag off at 6.00am on 4 December.
Last year’s marathon attracted about 15,000 participants from 91 countries and 21,000 participants have already signed up this year. The marathon route starts at Esplanade Drive, with the Padang as an ending point, where fun-filled activities and food await participants! |

ZoukOut 2005 The highly popular and anticipated ZoukOut 2005 returns for its fifth season from 10 - 11 December at Siloso Beach on Sentosa. The annual dance music festival attracts both local and international clubbers and reigns as the region’s most celebrated and talked-about party.
Party-goers can expect 12 hours of music and dancing from dusk to dawn (8pm to 8am), featuring some of the biggest names in deejays and local bands. There will also be non-stop entertainment with free carnival rides, interactive action games, quirky palm & card readings and live art demonstrations to guarantee an extraordinary outdoor clubbing experience. |

For those who prefer a quiet moment of contemplation, join in the Marina Bay New Year’s Eve Countdown 2006 and watch the bay glow with floating candles as you make wishes for the new year.
