Singapore Bags Best BT MICE City Award 
Singapore has won the Best BT MICE City at the TTG Asia Media’s 16th Travel Awards held in Phuket on 13 October 2005. This year’s award ceremony was held to coincide with the Incentive Travel & Conventions, Meetings Asia (IT&CMA) and Corporate Travel World (CTW) Asia Pacific.

More than 7,200 readers in 17 countries in the region voted online and in a printed questionnaire. The Best BT MICE City award was one of the 12 brand new titles introduced at this year’s awards. Singapore aced in being the friendliest city, most desirable to business travelers and the ideal city that BT planners would host an event, which was the judging criteria for the Best BT MICE City award. These 12 new awards recognise rising players for being outstanding leaders in their own niche areas, as well as industry palyers who have made significant contributions to the growth of the industry.

The BT MICE City award is the latest accolade that Singapore has clinched this year. Other recent accolades include:-
• “Best Business City” by the Business Traveller Asia-Pacific
• “Top Convention City in Asia” and “Third Top Convention City in the World” by the International Congress and Convention Association
• “Top Convention City in Asia" for 22 consecutive years by the Union of International Associations.

These awards further affirm Singapore’s reputation as a leading destination for business events. The STB will continue to collaborate with its industry partners to establish a vibrant business and MICE environment in Singapore, and ensure that the BT MICE segment continues to contribute significantly to Singapore's tourism receipts.
