Three Key International Organisations Set Up Asia Pacific Bases in Singapore Three new International Organisations (IOs) are the latest to join the growing list of IOs to set up bases in Singapore.
They are:-
- The Hague International Model United Nations (THIMUN), a non-profit educational foundation affiliated to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
- Habitat for Humanity International, a US-based IO, which was set up with the aim of eradicating poverty housing and homelessness.
- World Vision International, another US-based IO.
Singapore is currently home to more than 40 major IOs, including the International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI), the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Secretariat, and Tax Free World Association (TFWA).
There is a growing interest among IOs to increase their presence in the Asian region. With Singapore’s excellent connectivity, strategic location and world-class infrastructure, Singapore is well-placed to serve as a hub and springboard for IOs’ Asia Pacific operations.
