Cornell-Nanyang Institute of Hospitality Management Offers Professional Development Program Whether you are a young manager, a seasoned executive or the owner of an international resort chain, the Professional Development Program (PDP) by the Cornell-Nanyang Institute of Hospitality Management (CNI) will put you ahead in today's multi-faceted and dynamic hospitality industry.
The CNI is jointly established by two renowned education institutions – the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration and the Nanyang Technological University’s (NTU) Nanyang Business School in Singapore.
Asia’s emergence as the world’s most dynamic region in the coming years signals opportunities as well as competition for Singapore. For the Singapore tourism industry to maximise these opportunities in view of the tourism targets set for Tourism 2015, it is critical to develop a skilled and competent workforce to produce more captains of the tourism industry. Higher levels of training and development are essential in building this talent pool for tourism.
The PDP is a series of executive education programs designed for professionals in the services industry.
Some of the courses offered under the PDP are:- • Strategic Hospitality Management • Hotel Revenue Management • Managing People: Essential Skills for Leadership • Financial Management for Non-Financial Managers • Fundamentals of Hotel Investment and Financing Decision • Strategic Marketing for Hotels and Restaurants • Planning for Profits: Strategies for Restaurants
Each of these courses will last three days and will be conducted in Singapore by internationally recognised faculty members from both Cornell University and the Nanyang Technological University.
The PDP is in addition to the Master of Management in Hospitality, a one-of-its-kind graduate programme that CNI is offering. The STB will also be sponsoring the STB Scholarship for CNI for qualified applicants.
