Filipinos told, MUST TRY, lah! Singapore food

The Singapore Tourism Board launched a new food promotion called ‘MUST TRY, lah!’ on August 1 that runs until September 30 to give Filipinos in Manila a chance to enjoy Singapore fare and win trips to the city.

'Here in the Philippines, we are pleased to once again bring to our Filipino friends a special Singapore food promotion as a testament to our shared passion and enjoyment for eating. Singapore's local iconic cuisine is already well-recognised,’ said Area Director for STB-Philippines Mr Rocson Chang.

The ‘MUST TRY, lah!’ rewards customers with one raffle coupon for every single receipt for Php300 from any of the participating food establishments, as long as it includes one of the establishments’ must-try dishes.

Participating are Singaporean franchises Fish & Co., Kopi Roti, BreadTalk, Bee Cheng Hiang, and Manila-based restaurant Rasa, which specialises in Singaporean cuisine.

Said Mr Chang: ‘Through our specially-selected participating restaurants we offer a sampling of what Singapore has to offer to anyone who has yet to visit our island-nation. For our frequent visitors, here's an opportunity to satisfy that hunger until your next visit and get to win wonderful prizes and perhaps even that lucky trip itself.’

Ten winners will each get one round-trip ticket on economy class to Singapore inclusive of four days and three nights single room accommodation in a deluxe hotel with free daily breakfast as well as an exclusive Shop 'n Eat tour.

There will be two draws for 'MUST TRY, lah!', each with five grand prize winners and twenty-five consolation prize winners.  Entries submitted from 1 to 31 August 2006 will qualify for the First Draw while those submitted from 1 to 30 September 2006 will be carried over to the Second Draw.
