Golden Village all set to open big in VivoCity
In two months, a new attraction will open that will revolutionise cinema entertainment in Singapore.
Golden Village VivoCity, a 15-screen, 2,293-seat cinema complex, will open at the new HarbourFront complex on 7 October.
Operated by Golden Village Multiplex, the new flagship ‘15-plex’ will occupy 90,000 square feet of space. Golden Village expects to entertain over a million patrons a year there.
‘Think of the huge shake-up that happened in the cinema industry when GoldenVillage first arrived in Singapore. Golden Village has continually pushed boundaries and redefined cinema-going with every multi-screen cinema complex we've built in Singapore since 1992,’ said Mr Kenneth Tan, Managing Director, Golden Village Multiplex Pte Ltd, shown left.
GV opened its last multiplex in Singapore – GV Grand at Great World City– seven years ago. Built at a cost of about S$20 million, GV VivoCity will also become the exclusive venue for all movie premieres organized by Golden Village.
GV VivoCity will have:
• The widest indoor cinema screen in Asia (22.4 metres)
• A cluster of three Gold Class Cinemas – each with a private lounge and seats comparable to first class on an airline
• A Cinema Europa, a first for Singapore, where quality international movies, usually available only in film festivals, will be showcased all-year round
• A wide range of exciting food and beverage items from premium coffee to tasty dinners
• State-of-the-art digital projection
• An unparalleled selection of all types of movies
• An indoor reception area for private screenings, premieres, group functions, and corporate parties
‘We take pride in being true innovators focused on creating the ultimate customer movie experience. As the number one cinema brand in Singapore, we will make GV VivoCity the all-new way to go to the movies in Singapore. We're factoring 14 years of local experience and customer feedback into the whole design and programming process,’ said Mr Tan. |
