Rakesh Roshan to film 60 per cent of Koi Mil Gaya's sequel - Krrish - in Singapore Close to 60 per cent of Rakesh Roshan's eagerly-awaited sequel to Koi Mil Gaya, titled "Krrish", would be filmed in Singapore, with the Board facilitating the logistics support and ground requirements for the filming in Singapore. A Memorandum of Understanding to this effect was signed between the two parties.
The choice of Singapore as the main set and location for Krrish is a major achievement for the STB, as it marks the first mega Indian movie – with renowned producer Rakesh Roshan at the helm - to be shot in Singapore under the Film in Singapore! Scheme.
Krrish will be a milestone movie in Indian cinema, and promises to be a truly global cinematic production. The shoot in Singapore will last for 60 days from September to November 2005. Over 100 cast and crew will fly from India, China and US to Singapore during this period. An additional 100 cast and crew will also be hired from Singapore.
The director will showcase unique locations in Singapore including the world-renowned Singapore Zoo, Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay, Chinatown, the bustling lifestyle districts along the Singapore River and one of Singapore's rustic islands - Pulau Ubin. Naturally, the famous shopping district of Orchard Road and the landmark Changi Airport will also feature prominently in the movie. |
