STB’s float delights Suzhou residents
Residents of Suzhou City (Jiangsu Province, P R China) were recently treated to a Singapore Tourism Board (STB) float during the opening ceremony of the 9th China International Tourism Festival.
Staged on Jinji Lake, the event, co-sponsored by the China National Tourism Administration and the Suzhou Municipal People's Government, drew crowds who gathered to watch the float parade as well as stage performances.
Put together by STB Eastern China’s Regional Office , the float showcased Singapore’s culture and attractions through a specially choreographed multi-cultural dance featuring the different races living in Singapore and a Peranankan wedding couple amidst interactive items (including a water sprouting Merlion, the Suntec fountain of wealth, pink diving dolphins and walking flamingos).
The event received favourable coverage on local television as well as several local newspapers.
