Merlion Takes a Time-Out for a Shower from 5 June to 10 July
The Merlion sculpture at the Merlion Park will undergo routine cleaning works from 5 June to 10 July, and will not be open to the public.
During this period, visitors can expect to be greeted by a cheery cartoon of the Merlion peeping out from a flowery shower curtain instead. The illustrations will cover the 2.4-metre high hoardings around the Merlion and two printed canvases over the 10-metre high safety netting.
Those organising fam trips, television crew filming or local tours should also take note of the additional monthly maintenance dates scheduled from August to the end of the year. During these dates, the Merlion & Merlion cub will not be spouting water from 9am to 6pm.
Maintenance Dates:
- 17 – 18 Aug
- 28 - 29 Sep
- 12 – 13 Oct
- 16 – 17 Nov
- 14 – 15 Dec
