Your Tourism Update from the Singapore Tourism Board

September 2005

Marketing Support Department

The Market Development Division was set up as part of the International Group. Headed by Mr Samuel Sim, its aim is to align the market strategies of the STB's regional offices with the Board's global priorities and brand positioning. It also assists the regional offices to increase arrivals, improve yields, develop greater customer insights and reduce impediments for visitors travelling into Singapore. The division comprises the Marketing Support Department, Market Access Department and Strategic Marketing Department.

The Marketing Support Department within the Market Development Division will serve as the primary link between the Singapore travel industry and the STB's regional offices for in-market leisure tactical promotions and participation in trade and consumer shows.

Led by Assistant Director Mr Gabriel Tseng, the department is structured on a geographical basis to support the marketing needs of the eight regions under the STB's International Group. For ease of reference, the table below shows the regions, the STB's regional offices and the major overseas trade and consumer shows that the Marketing Support Senior Officers have purview over.
