Singapore chosen as Best Business Destination City by DestinAsian Readers of DestinAsian, Asia’s luxury travel and lifestyle magazine, have voted Singapore the Best Business Destination City, citing its cosmopolitan ethos and lifestyle, and reputation as a pre-eminent business hub.
Voting for the inaugural DestinAsian Readers’ Choice Awards took place in the second half of 2005 via a survey which sought readers’ views on their favourite destinations, hotels and airlines in the Asia-Pacific region.
“These awards are particularly meaningful because they reflect the views of our readers who are seasoned travellers for business and leisure,” said the Founder and Publisher of DestinAsian, Mr Ronald Liem.
The awards were presented at a luncheon held in Hong Kong in mid-February. Accepting the award for Singapore was Mr Aloysius Arlando, STB's Assistant Chief Executive (Business Travel & MICE Group).
Said Mr Arlando: “We are pleased and delighted to be voted Best Business Destination City by the readers of DestinAsian. This accolade is a fantastic way to kick off 2006 on a positive note and is further testament to Singapore's strengths as a business city. However, in the face of ever increasing competition in the region, we certainly will not be resting on our laurels. This award will spur us to even greater heights.”
Sharing the spotlight with Singapore as Best Business Destination City were Singapore Airlines for Best Airline and Changi International Airport for Best Airport. |
