The following major conferences and events in the field of healthcare will be held in March.

 

2nd Asia Pacific Suicide Prevention Conference
The event is a 3-day conference from 10 – 12 March that aims to understand the complex topic on suicide – “Suicide Prevention – Myth or Reality”. The conference is expected to attract a total of 400 participants of which about 150 are overseas delegates.


 

2nd Scientific Meeting for Operating Room Nurses
The theme for this meeting is “Patient Safety: Our Concern, Our Focus”. Through this meeting, the aim is to update perioperative nurses on the latest trends and issues related to patient and staff safety in the operating room. This meeting, held from 11 – 12 March, is expected to attract a total of 300 participants of which 100 are from abroad.


 

Short Course on Cord Blood Transplantation
Over the last 15 years, umbilical cord blood transplantation (UCBT) has emerged as an alternative to peripheral blood and bone marrow transplantation (BMT) of patients in need of a haematopoietic stem cell graft.

The core topics for the short course include:
• Cord blood transplantation in children and adults
• Application in genetic and metabolic diseases
• Regulatory issues
• Pooled cord blood transplantation
• Ex Vivo expansion of cord blood stem cells

This meeting is expected to attract a total of 200 participants of which 80 are from overseas and will be held from 31 March to 1 April.
