New Hotel Developments
December saw the groundbreaking ceremony for Boutique Hotel @ Tiong Bahru and the official opening of Novotel Clarke Quay. Come late January, Singapore will see the opening of another unique hotel, the New Majestic Hotel.
Boutique Hotel @ Tiong Bahru
Macau-based holding company, Hang Huo Enterprise Group Limited and the STB held the ground-breaking ceremony for Boutique Hotel @ Tiong Bahru on 8 December.
Boutique Hotel @ Tiong Bahru is an innovative conversion of two blocks of Singapore Improvement Trust (SIT) flats into a new hotel, while preserving the distinctive façade of the building. Located in one of Singapore’s oldest and most charming neighbourhoods, Boutique Hotel @ Tiong Bahru offers visitors a first-hand and Uniquely Singapore experience of living in the heartlands.
When completed, Boutique Hotel @ Tiong Bahru will provide 288 themed guest rooms. Estimated to cost S$45 million, the hotel is targeted to be operational by the end of this year. The Hang Huo Enterprise Group plans to target visitors from P R China, who are looking for unique accommodation options. This hotel development project is Hang Huo’s first flagship hotel and investment in Singapore.
Novotel Clarke Quay
Novotel Clarke Quay, formerly New Otani Hotel, officially opened on 7 December after undergoing a massive 6-month renovation. Novotel Clarke Quay is operated and managed by Accor, which also operates and manages the Grand Mercure Roxy Hotel located in the East Coast area.
Novotel Clarke Quay is strategically located at Clarke Quay, which is set to become a vibrant iconic night entertainment belt in the region, with a variety of lifestyle, entertainment, retail and food and beverage outlets.
Visitors will be spolit for choice by the diverse range of entertainment offerings such as the famous Crazy Horse Paris and the newly-opened Ministry of Sound, as well as the fine selection of dining options available at Singapore’s most happening waterfront entertainment belt.
New Majestic Hotel
Come late January, Singapore will see the opening of another unique hotel, the New Majestic Hotel. Located in the heart of Chinatown, New Majestic Hotel is housed in a traditional conservation shophouse and features modern design, fused with Singapore’s local culture and arts. Each of New Majestic Hotel’s 30 rooms is individually adorned with a unique blend of vintage and modern design.
