Launch of the Tender for the Singapore Sports Hub Singapore's goal to be the preferred venue for premium sports and entertainment events in the region gets a step closer with the launch of the tender for the Singapore Sports Hub on 15 December. The tender launched by the Singapore Sports Council began with the process to pre-qualify potential bidders.
The Sports Hub will be a 35-hectare, fully integrated sports, entertainment and lifestyle hub. A unique cluster development of world-class sports facilities next to the city, it is the first Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) project for a sports infrastructure in the world.
The Sports Hub will house a new 55,000-capacity National Stadium, including a fully retractable roof, a 3,000 capacity Multi-Purpose Indoor Arena-cum-Sports Centre, a new Indoor Aquatic Centre-cum-Water Leisure Centre and the existing Singapore Indoor Stadium. The Sports Hub will also include leisure and commercial development opportunities for investors.
The Sports Hub will play a critical role in becoming one of the many ideal venues in Singapore in hosting premium sports events and activities. Envisioned to be a national icon and global attraction, the Sports Hub, when completed, will be able to host not only world-class sporting events, but also big-scale sports competitions. The hosting of such events will contribute significantly to raising Singapore’s profile among visitors from all over the world. |
