In-market Activities In January, SingaporeMedicine and Singapore Education will be holding roadshows and participating in conferences and fairs in Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and Dubai. The ASEAN Tourism Forum and Travex will be held in Philippines, and the STB Sydney will be participating in the Melbourne Flight Centre Travel Expo and Travelworld Newcastle Holiday & Travel Show.

IKPII Education Fair Singapore Education will be participating in the Ikatan Konsultan Pendidikan Internasional Indonesia (the Indonesian International Education Consultant Association or “IKPII”) fair, to be held on 7 and 8 January in Jakarta. The fair is one of the largest education exhibitions in Jakarta, attracting more than 70 exhibitors and around 5,000 students annually. The Expo serves as a platform where Indonesians can get the most updated and comprehensive information regarding overseas study options. |

ASEAN Tourism Forum and Travex Singapore will be participating at the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF), to be held from 13 – 21 January in Davao City, Philippines. This annual event is a cooperative regional effort to promote the ASEAN region as one tourist destination and involves the tourism sector of the 10 member nations of ASEAN. The event promotes the exchange of ideas, review of industry developments, and joint formulation of specific recommendations to further accelerate the growth of ASEAN tourism. ATF also provides a platform for the selling and buying of regional and individual tourism products of ASEAN member countries.
The theme for ATF 2006, “Celebrating the Many Faces Of ASEAN”, salutes the ASEAN's organisation’s tremendous strides in bringing to life the principle of Unity In Diversity and highlights the need to follow through on initiatives to strengthen regional tourism cooperation while supporting the tourism aspirations of individual member-countries.
TRAVEX (Travel Exchange) 2006 will be held from 18 – 20 January as part of ATF. A trade-only mart, it offers opportunities for suppliers of ASEAN travel products to meet selected buyers from around the world through scheduled appointments. It also provides an ideal forum for buyers to gather the latest information on ASEAN tourism products and services, establish new business contacts and learn about tourism trends in the region. Singapore will be showcasing Uniquely Singapore and its latest tourism offerings at TRAVEX 2006. |

SingaporeMedicine Roadshows To promote awareness of SingaporeMedicine and healthcare services in Singapore, a six-city roadshow in Indonesia will be held, starting in Jogjakarta on 14 - 15 January. Various healthcare providers in Singapore will participate in the roadshow together with the Doctors’ Association of Indonesia. The roadshow will travel to five other cities namely, Semarang, Surabaya, Pekan Baru, Balikpapan and Samarinda, to facilitate the exchange of medical knowledge and expertise. |

Singapore Education Roadshows in Indonesia and Sri Lanka Singapore Education will be holding a series of roadshows in Indonesia and Sri Lanka, to raise awareness of Singapore as a premier education hub in Asia.
The roadshows in Indonesia will be held in Bandung (14 – 15 January), Palembang (21 – 22 January), Pekan Baru (11 – 12 February) and Makasar (18 - 19 February). This is SingaporeEducation’s first foray into the secondary cities of Indonesia.
The roadshows in Sri Lanka will be held as part of EDEX 2006, in the cities of Colombo and Kandy, on 20 – 22 January and 24 – 25 January respectively. |

Arab Health 2006 The STB, IE Singapore and Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) of Singapore will be leading various healthcare-related companies to participate at the SingaporeMedicine pavilion at the Arab Health 2006, from 22 – 25 January in Dubai. The SingaporeMedicine pavilion will allow visitors to experience a seamless flow of information, covering a wide spectrum of healthcare solutions from medical services, consultancy and training, medical equipment and products, to infocomm solutions. It will highlight the healthcare value chain, connecting the medical community in the Middle East to a value-added, one-stop healthcare solution. In addition, a segment under the SingaporeMedicine pavilion will showcase the unique aspects of Singapore as a travel destination, alongside its reputation as a leading medical hub.
Participants include SingHealth, KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, NHG Gulf, Parkway Group Healthcare, Susan Lim Surgery, Health Management International Ltd, Neotech, Eu Yan Sang and homegrown information communications companies Matrixview and NW Biomedical. |

Melbourne Flight Centre Travel Expo and Travelworld Newcastle Holiday & Travel Show The STB Sydney will be participating in the Melbourne Flight Centre Travel Expo, to be held at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre from 28 - 29 January. Flight Centre is one of the largest retail travel agencies in Australia and holds an annual series of consumer travel expos. The Melbourne Travel Expo is the biggest of all the Expos, in terms of visitor numbers, with more than 22,500 people visiting the show in 2005.
The Travelworld Newcastle Holiday & Travel Show will be held at the Newcastle Partners, New South Wales on 18 January. The Travelworld Newcastle Holiday & Travel Show is the largest regional travel show in Australia, attracting more than 12,000 travel consumers in just one day. |
