Overseas Students' Association Set Up The Overseas Students’ Association, which will act as the official organisation representing all international students studying in Singapore on a full-time basis, has been set up. Students who are at least 16 years of age and holding valid Student’s Passes issued by the relevant authorities in Singapore, are welcome to register as members of the Association.
The Association aims to provide all members with opportunities to develop and foster intellectual, cultural, social, athletic and recreational interests and skills.
As a start, members are being encouraged to provide assistance in the integration facilitation of newly-arrived international students by participating in the regular Orientation Programmes for International Students.
A 12-member Committee consisting of The President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Student Welfare Chairman, Public Relations Chairman, Community Services Project Chairman, Sports and Recreation Chairman and 4 committee members has been formed.
The venue for meeting of the Association is at the Singapore Education Services Centre.
Membership drive will commence in February and a dedicated website for the Association will be set up concurrently.
